About the Student Advisory Council
Overview
The Texas A&M Health Student Advisory Council (SAC) works for the betterment of Texas A&M Health by serving the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Texas A&M Health in an advisory capacity on issues pertinent to its students. The SAC was originally formed in 2016 to provide a direct bridge between the Texas A&M Health leadership and students.
The SAC includes representation across class years from each of the academic components within Texas A&M Health including the colleges of dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health, as well as interdisciplinary graduate programs.
Goals
- Act as the official voice of the students of Texas A&M Health
- Educate and stimulate student involvement in student affairs across component boundaries
- Assist in communicating Texas A&M Health-wide issues to all students
- Consider matters of policy and their implications on professional and graduate education
- Assist in the advancement of sound public policy as it relates to Texas A&M Health
